How Meditation can change your life
Roy E Davis says that meditation is the natural process to release tension, reduce stress, increase awareness and concentrate more effectively. Meditation enable one to experience emotional calm, relaxation, clear state of mind and tranquility. Meditation is easy, natural and result producing. It is not practiced to escape from problems and challenges but it enables us to function more creatively and successfully. It helps to reduce stress. It slows your breathing pattern and the activity of your internal organs, emotions become settled and mental activity becomes more refined. If you meditate on a regular basis you can control your blood pressure, hyper tension, nervousness, confusion and stress.
While meditating our attention is naturally drawn inward without any unwanted thoughts. So regular meditation can help you concentrate better on what you do. Stress, confusion, fear, anxiety, doubt weakens the immune system, but regular relaxation and meditation strengthens the immune system. Research has shown that a person who meditates regularly shows less sign to aging, mental, physical and emotional states are much better, far less stress and a better immune system.
Every day 60, 000 thoughts cross our mind. When your thoughts are confused fear and confusion fills your mind, your ability to function becomes diminished. So if you meditate on a regular basis you tend to have an increase awareness and harmonizing thoughts and emotions. You will also experience an increase in intellectual abilities. Your thoughts flow freely and spontaneously. Your habits and behavior patterns change. After regular period of meditation you can choose your behavior and renounce any negative habits. You can meditate any time of the day. Allow 15 to 30 minutes for the session. Early morning is the best time because your mind is clear and your thoughts are yet not involved with other matters. It is good to practice 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes at night. Select a quiet place where you will not be disturbed. Sit comfortably in a chair. One should hold one's body, neck and head erect in a straight line and stare steadily at the tip of the nose. Do it for 3 to 5 minutes. It gives you good concentration. Then close your eyes and be still for a few moments. Inhale and exhale for 3 minutes. When you inhale breathe deeply, breathe through your nose, fill your abdomen, hold for the count of 8 and slowly release it. Repeat it several times. When you exhale release all your negative thoughts. Focus your attention on the breath. Your thoughts may wonder, gently bring it back to your breathing. Be patient and allow yourself time to train your attention. Give 100% attention to your breath.
